Steve Slater, FYI :

10 seconds is really eons in Formula 1 – but I shouldnt be reminding that to someone who’s been commenting on F1 for what – half a dozen years? more, maybe? or should I?

Seriously, Schumi had no way of catching Alonso today unless Fisi and Alonso were competing, or Alonso made a 3rd pit stop. What on earth were you thinking when you said there was a game on, after the last pit stops when there was 10 seconds between Alonso and Schumacher?

That Schumacher suddenly got a F2004 and Alonso got the similar version of Renault?

It was apalling commentary. And it was a BORING race – right after lap 10 – by then, except for engine/mechanical failure or crash, Alonso had pretty much sewn the win up.

Still, its good to see Renault not running away with it, and Ferrari giving them a run for their money.

The headline from this f1-live article article sums it up

  1. yup! i totally agree…Schumi did all he could, but I think a few lesser milliseconds in Qualifying would have done the trick. But I’m happy he atleast got 2nd..it would have been a total drag if he finished 3rd behind Fisi. Good work by Kimi, the only breath-taking part of an othrwise boring race.

and i THINK Slater was being seriously troubled by some female (in ways..ahhh leave it!) cos he was speaking total nonsense for atleast a few mintues. esp the part after the 2nd pit-stop. phew!

  2. lmao, hear ya, dude. hope we’re spared such stuff next time around

  3. Amen!!
